Military issue (typically upright GI) were an Western hardcore punk band originating from a Washington DC scene, formed in 1980 and signed to Dischord Records. Numbers of early songs were straightforward hardcore, clocking around at under the 1 microscopic mark, however it late progressed into the a further melodic song-focussed outfit (citing The Damned as key to gaining this catchy sound) & typically by having lyrics critical of the short-nearsighted behavior of the scene it aided within creating.
Given a hanker heading nature and severity of the band, numerous participants in the DC hardcore scene experienced never to return across G.We.'s membership. Military issue featured Brian Baker of minor Threat as well as Mike Fellows of The Faith (band) as well as numerous others.
A G.I personally.s when it were known became one of a yearn running off elastic within a DC hardcore scene, & fallowing many line-higher changes, the band broke higher in 1988, vocalist John Stabb (aka: "Fruit Loops") and guitar player Tom Lyle formed an experimental outfit called Glee Club and made two records. Tom Lyle made two solo records that were other straight leading strong rock inside 1990 & 1992.
Tom Lyle also when Bassist Jay Robbins & drummer Peter Moffett, regrouped to record Deuce live GI songs. This wwhen freed as a Rollkicker Laydown EP.
Bassist Jay Robbins, went in to form Jawbox. Robbins so late, by using Issue drummer, Peter Moffett, formed Burning Airlines.
